Asst. Project Manager: Water Infrastructure General Contractor
This Assistant PM position is primarily based in a construction office trailer on at an existing Wastewater Treatment Facility where construction is ongoing. A typical day will entail a mixture of office and field work. Onsite you would be exposed to the role/responsibility of an Assistant Project Manager (APM) as follows:
– help manage submittals, cost tracking, scheduling and coordination, field support for superintendent, purchasing and cost estimating.
– observe, learn, and help manage various construction operations including excavations, concrete work, structural steel, process mechanical, electrical and HVAC
ENTRY LEVEL OPPORTUNITY WITH PROCESS MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR
What is a process mechanical contractor?
- We build systems that include vessels, pumps, piping, and custom equipment used by chemical, bio-pharmaceutical, water treatment, industrial utilities, research labs, and other specialty facilities. Our customers present a project which has been engineered or needs to be engineered and built, and they provide drawings and specifications of what they want. We compile a cost to buy and install all the pipe, instruments, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, bio-reactors, filters, and all the components to complete their system. If they accept our proposal, we plan and build the project based on equipment deliveries, shop fabrication, and on-site installation schedules.
What would I do there?
- The position begins with an introduction to the many types of piping systems and components we purchase and install. There’s a wide range of systems we install that use carbon steel, copper, stainless steel, Teflon-lined pipe, and many more. You could be looking at a system for steam service, chilled or hot water, caustic/acidic chemicals, fuel gas and oils, drug manufacturing lines, lab gases, water treatment, and so on. Many of these pieces are in our shop and you’ll physically see how they are welded, flanged, brazed, or otherwise put together.
- While learning what systems are made of, you are introduced to diagrams and drawings of the systems to learn how they are built. This is accompanied by visits to facilities to see the projects we are currently working on and learn the construction process hands-on.
- Once you have the basic knowledge of what’s being built, you’ll learn and perform the steps of estimating costs (by doing material take-off), purchasing (by getting quotes and issuing purchase orders), coordinating and tracking deliveries for fabrication and overall project progress.
- You will have an understanding of some of the many types of systems built in process mechanical construction and performed some of the basic construction management skills.
Who are we looking for?
- We would like any engineering student with interests in learning about specialty mechanical systems, how they are built, and the challenge of make it all happen. Students should be self-motivated, interested in construction and building, and have a desire to be hands-on and learn from the field, not at a desk.
PASSIVATION SERVICES FIELD TECHNICIAN
Hart Passivation is seeking motivated, team oriented person for an entry level position. Successful candidate will receive “on the job training” as well as all required industry training such as OSHA 10/30, HazMat, etc. Competitive pay and benefits.
All candidates should possess:
- Good mechanical aptitude, plumbing experience helpful
- Ability to read, write and communicate in english
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record (DMV check will be done)
- CDL helpful but not required
- Successful candidate must pass a DOT physical to obtain a valid medical certification

Experienced professional who can lead Hart’s HR efforts. must possess a professional and confident bearing along with corporate experience in HR Management and policy execution. Candidates will work closely with Senior Management and should have outstanding communication skills and be proficient with basic MS Office tools.

Process Piping Designer
Position available for an experienced Process Piping Designer proficient in 2D AutoCAD and 3D design tools to develop piping plans (orthos and isos) for the design and construction of process manufacturing facilities. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D design modeling is required with an ability to quickly learn other 3D design packages such as CADWorx. Successful applicant to be based out of the corporate office in the Greater Providence area however position requires travel to customer’s sites, primarily throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Structural Engineer with BSCE Degree. EIT Preferred. 0-3 Years experience. Perform calculations to determine sizing and arrangement of structural members. Analysis of existing structures. Develop construction drawings. Work under the supervision of Senior PE.
Electrical Engineer with 5 plus years of Industrial Experience, designing Power and Control Systems for Pharmaceutical and Industrial Applications. BSEE Required. PE preferred.
Mechanical Engineer with 5 plus years of experience designing HVAC and Utility Systems for Pharmaceutical and Industrial Applications. BSME Required. PE preferred. Work under the supervision of Senior ME.
Sr. Bio-Process Engineer

Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Position available for degreed Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical systems design.
Education: BS Mechanical Engineering, PE preferable
Job Description: Responsible for Engineering and Design of Facilities Systems, including HVAC and related utility systems. Responsibilities include heating and cooling load calculations, evaluating existing systems, technical specifications preparation as well as system design and layout for air handling equipment, supply, return and exhaust duct systems, boiler plants, hot and chilled water distribution systems, temperature control system design and cost estimation.
The individual will report to the Manager Process Engineering. Position involves working as part of a multi-discipline team, acting as discipline lead, and / or executing individual assignments. Responsibilities will include:
- Performing Material and Energy balance calculations
- Performing General Engineering Calculations
- Developing PFD’s, and P&ID’s
- Equipment Sizing Calculations and Specifications
- Assisting with development of project documentation
- Experience in a cGMP Environment in biotech industry
- Experience with Single Use Technology preferred
