Corporate Safety Officer 

Position summary:  Plans, directs and implements the Company Safety Program to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment on every project.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Safety goals are achieved on every project
  • No accidents or near misses
  • No OSHA citations
  • Employees have a positive attitude toward safe work practices
  • Employees are well-educated in safe practices and have all the resources necessary to work safely
  • All governmental safety regulations are observed and practiced
  • Weekly visits or phone contact with all projects
  • Analyzes and recommends corrective action for all accidents

Position responsibilities:

  • Develops specific objectives and strategies to maintain an effective safety program that complies with federal, state and local safety regulations
  • Conducts comprehensive on-site safety assessments of projects as part of constant monitoring process and monitors corrective actions taken
  • Participates in pre-construction and handoff meetings
  • Develops and administers safety incentive programs
  • Develops and maintains documentation for the Safety Manual, Safety/EEO booklet, Fleet Operations Program, Emergency Management Plan and the Substance Abuse Policy
  • Develops and administers the company substance abuse policy; establishes testing programs and identifies providers; monitors the testing program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; provides information on rehabilitation assistance to employees
  • Plans and implements programs to train employees in work site safety practices
  • Develops Tool Box Safety Talks in compliance with Company safety policies; educates project personnel
  • Implements and maintains the Fleet Operations Policy
  • Provides information, signs, posters, personal protective equipment, barriers, etc. to projects
  • Reviews accident and incident documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete and accurate; ensures corrective action is implemented
  • Participates in investigating all accidents resulting in lost time injuries or major property, liability or equipment damage; produces investigative reports
  • Represents the Company in all safety related hearings (OSHA, etc.)
  • Prepares all required regulatory reports and ensures they are submitted timely
  • Maintains safety files and records; prepares reports for management as needed
  • Recommends and enforces disciplinary actions against safety policy violators
  • Ensures all job site electrical hazards are marked and protected to the greatest extent possible
  • Plans, staffs and supervises all assigned department activities through appropriate delegation to department personnel
  • Creates and monitors divisional budget, prepares reports for President/CEO
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are understood and implemented consistently
  • Develops and continually improves the effectiveness of the department’s procedures
  • Evaluates the performance of the departmental staff
  • Provides advice and direction to department personnel toward their professional development
  • Works with the Director of Human Resources on all personnel-related actions
  • Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values and goals to department staff

  • Works with Insurance Companies and serves as liaison with Medical Care Providers to assist in claims management.

Essential skills and experience:

  • 4 year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of training and related experience
  • At least 5-10 years construction safety experience
  • OSHA30 and/or OSHA500 certification
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and Company regulations
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and educate others
  • Good computer skills

Process Engineering Position

  • Experience: 0-5 Years

Keys

Hart is seeking a process engineering candidate with 0-5 years of experience in a consulting or manufacturing environment. Education or demonstrated technical strength in pharmaceutical or biotech design and/or operations is desirable. Must have strong communication skills, ability to work under aggressive schedules, and willingness to learn.

Job Description

  • Work under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams for a wide variety of projects.
  • Interface with clients and perform on-site investigation to define project requirements.
  • Prepare basic engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, material and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
  • Perform engineering calculations in support of design objectives.
  • Assist clients with commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate procurement services and schedules.

Sr. Bio-Process Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science Chem E, or Related
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience

Sr. Chemical Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science Chem E, or Related
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Experience working for Pharma or Chemical Manufacturer and / or Engineering Consultant
  • Experience with preparation of Engineering Documents (PFD’s P&ID’s, M&E Calculations, Equipment Specifications, etc.)
  • Works well in a team environment

Director Bio-Process Engineering

  • Masters or Bachelor of Science Chem E, or Related
  • Minimum 12+ years’ experience
  • Experience working for Bio-pharm Manufacturer and / or Engineering Consultant
  • Recognized standing in the community
  • Experience with Engineering Documents (PFD’s P&ID’s, M&E Calculations, Equipment Specifications, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current bioprocess technologies and manufacturing trends

Asst. Project Manager: Water Infrastructure General Contractor

This Assistant PM position is a long term opportunity. It is an entry level position for an engineer (ideally civil or mechanical background) in an existing Wastewater Treatment Facility where construction is ongoing. A typical day will entail a mixture of office and field work. Responsibility of an Assistant Project Manager (APM) as follows:

  • Help manage submittals, cost tracking, scheduling and coordination, field support for superintendent, purchasing and cost estimating
  • Observe, learn, and help manage various construction operations including excavations, concrete work, structural steel, process mechanical, electrical and HVAC

ENTRY LEVEL OPPORTUNITY WITH PROCESS MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR

Roles/responsibilities:

  • The position begins with an introduction to the many types of piping systems and components we purchase and steam service, chilled or hot water, caustic/acidic chemicals, fuel gas and oils, drug manufacturing lines, lab gases, water treatment, and so on.
  • Introduction to diagrams and drawings of the systems to learn how they are built.
  • Site visits to facilities to see the projects we are currently working on and learn the construction process hands-on.
  • Learn the steps of estimating costs, purchasing, coordinating and tracking deliveries for fabrication and overall project progress.

Who are we looking for?

  • We would like any engineering student with interests in learning about specialty mechanical systems, how they are built, and the challenge of make it all happen. Students should be self-motivated, interested in construction and building, and have a desire to be hands-on and learn from the field, not just at a desk.

PASSIVATION SERVICES FIELD TECHNICIAN

Hart Passivation is seeking motivated, team oriented person for an entry level position.  Successful candidate will receive “on the job training” as well as all required industry training such as OSHA 10/30, HazMat, etc.  Competitive pay and benefits.

All candidates should possess:

  • Good mechanical aptitude, plumbing experience helpful
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in english
  • Valid drivers license with a good driving record (DMV check will be done)
  • CDL helpful but not required

Employment requirements:

  • Successful candidate must pass a DOT physical to obtain a valid medical certification
  • Background check to be done by employer
  • Frequent overtime and weekend work
  • Periodic inter-state travel required (expenses paid)
  • Must be able to lift equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Employee duties:

  • Work under the supervision of field services foreman, superintendent and/or general manager.
  • Become familiar with all aspects of chemical work, mechanical polishing and electro-polishing
  • Observe at first, then, gradually participate, at direction of supervision, in performing duties commensurate with current experience and training level.

HR Manager

Experienced professional who can lead Hart’s HR efforts.  must possess a professional and confident bearing along with corporate experience in HR Management and policy execution. Candidates will work closely with Senior Management and should have outstanding communication skills and be proficient with basic MS Office tools.

Project Manager

Individual experience in managing multi-discipline engineering projects for large clients.  Should have a technical background and / or field of technical expertise.  Capable of developing engineering estimates, schedules. Client Communications and relations.

Process Piping Designer

Position available for an experienced Process Piping Designer proficient in 2D AutoCAD and 3D design tools to develop piping plans (orthos and isos) for the design and construction of process manufacturing facilities. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D design modeling is required with an ability to quickly learn other 3D design packages such as CADWorx. Successful applicant to be based out of the corporate office in the Greater Providence area however position requires travel to customer’s sites, primarily throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Structural Engineer

Structural Engineer with BSCE Degree.  EIT Preferred. 0-3 Years experience.  Perform calculations to determine sizing and arrangement of structural members.  Analysis of existing structures.  Develop construction drawings.  Work under the supervision of Senior PE.

Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer with 5 plus years of Industrial Experience, designing Power and Control Systems for Pharmaceutical and Industrial Applications.  BSEE Required.  PE preferred.

Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer with 5 plus years of experience designing HVAC and Utility Systems for Pharmaceutical and Industrial Applications.  BSME Required.  PE preferred.   Work under the supervision of Senior ME.
